reading aggressively nationalistic (and not so “historical”) NEW sources about history is equal to being forced into a very hot and uncomfortable room with walls covered in overdone, cliche WWI-novel-cover-art while the national anthem blares at you scratchily on an old gramophone and with military marches on another equally loud gramophone playing unharmoniously while people also stare at you hatefully and disapprovingly from outside of a window.

When I was a kid, I would feel so reassured when I saw those debt consolidation commercials, especially the ones with the dramatizations of people who were ‘finally no longer afraid to answer the phone,’ and I would take a mental note, like “oh thank god, if I ever owe a ton of money, I wont be doomed, I’ll know where to go.”

You can’t spell funeral without “fun”

However, the elements of which the word is comprised, given that they are not related in their etymology nor do they share roots in an ancient tongue, should not lend one to conclude that there is meaning beyond an amusing coincidence, nor that the words one spells whilst spelling another larger word have any necessary indication as to the mood or value of the concept which the word is meant to describe. One can only conclude, given these circumstances, that the coincidence is a result of a limited number of phonemes in the English language.

Post Mortem Photo Cabinet Card of Boy with Ragged Clothes & Bare Feet

The seller thinks this boy was poor, considering the clothes, but post-mortem photos cost a lot of money to take, so I don’t know what’s going on.

This is definitely a post-mortem photo (unlike 2394802938402 other photos for sale on eBay that are advertised as such). His hands are swollen and hang unnaturally, his lips look sort of blackened, the eyes are clearly drawn on the photo (they don’t even point in the same direction), and there’s a wooden stand behind him propping him up.
