This is the youngest I have ever seen Voss in a photo. He’s still in in Kampfstaffel 20, so it must have been 1916. He…died…at age 20 in September 1917, so he must be 18 or 19 here.
[NOTE: Yesterday was his death date!! Oh God no! Everyone go into mourning NOW]
The men of KG IV Staffel 20 1916 Kempf is in the front seat next to the driver. Oblt. Kastner is holding the rifle. Werner Voss is leaning on the rear fender. (via Kempf3)
Manfred Von Richthofen and Werner Voss
Oh Manfred is my absolute favorite, but Werner is my *next* favorite (I can’t say second favorite - it feels wrong).
And when they are together in a picture, I die a wonderful death.
I’ve seen this photo online, but only with markings on it. I wish it were better quality.
A very nice photo of Werner Voss that had a horrible watermark on his face. It’s very similar to this one, and may be from the same day.
There is still a little evidence of watermark, annoyingly
